Scott Britt is known as the pioneer of metric custom motorcycles. Starting in his father's Yamaha dealership in 1976 in Wilmington, North Carolina, Britt Motorsports is now a multi-franchised, multi-location dealership creating the most radical custom metric motorcycles in the U.S. The "Speedstar" was the first metric ever on the cover of V-Twin magazine in 1999 and countless awards have been won at shows, including Daytona's Rat's Hole and Boardwalk Bike Show. Scott has had numerous bikes featured in magazines to date.

The Wilmington location of Britt Motorsports contains the fab shop and paint facility for Britt Customs. The Britt staff has evolved to building the bikes over many years and all the work is completed in-house.
